COMMUNITY LEADER – ENVIRONMENTAL ADVOCATE – PROBLEM SOLVER

The Timm Family

I am a candidate for the District 17 seat on the Lake County Board. Should I have the honor of representing the residents of District 17, I will focus on:

Protecting taxpayer dollars

Advocating for smart land use

Solving storm water issues

Modernizing infrastructure

When I discovered that Volo Bog, Citizens for Conservation preserves, Oak Ridge Marsh Nature Park and Kuechmann Arboretum would be included in my newly re-mapped county board district, I knew I wanted to run for the Lake County Board to protect and maintain these open spaces. I LOVE Lake County. It is the most biodiverse county in Illinois. It’s a dream of mine to help this part of our county develop economically and also to preserve what makes this area such a high-quality place to live. Help me keep Lake County growing and beautiful and please elect me to be your voice on the County Board.

It will be my honor to represent the residents of District 17 on the Lake County Board and the Forest Preserves Board. I have seen what dedicated people can do to change their communities for the better, and I look forward to the opportunity to do this work on the county level.

My first bioswale project as Project Supervisor! This flooding-driven and grant-based bioswale project got mowed down by new homeowners due to a lack of communication and a staffing change. My job was to rehab it. Victor, Axel, and Joseph used a backhoe to dig the sod out that had grown into the swale. I selected straight species native plants that can survive in standing water. We got mucky planting 575 plants! I almost lost my boots/fell on my butt multiple times. 🤣 When visiting yesterday we saw a dragonfly already buzzing the native plants. Now we wait for the plants to grow deep roots, filter pollutants from the water, and reduce the impact of flooding in the lowest area of this subdivision. Miscommunication will not be a problem going forward. New friendships were formed. 😍😍😍😍😍 Thank you Nancy Schumm! ... See MoreSee Less
